I am a healer.

I proclaim that with pride – for several reasons:

—	my family name is ‘Haley’, and my name, Marilee, is made up from my mother’s name ‘Mary Haley’ (hale = heal)

—	the word ‘heal’ is derived from the word ‘hale’ (which means ‘whole’) before 900; Middle English – derivative of hāle – whole

—	the ‘Haley’ family is a family of healers from Irish / Scottish descent

—	in the Holistic Health industry the term ‘healer’ is actually a professional designation which indicates that the person has studied ‘Energy Healing’ from a credible program and has a ‘Healing Practice’ (programs like the four year Barbara Brennan School of Healing Science or Healing Touch Program, of which I’m a graduate of both and have taught Healing Touch for many years).

—	in the context of our industry, the term ‘healing’ means to use hands to ‘help create balance, harmony, and wholeness’ in the ‘subtle energy system’ so that the natural healing process can take place within the individual receiving the healing [healers don’t have ‘special powers’ they might be highly intuitive and ‘gifted’, but specifically, and professionally, they have been trained to utilize ‘natural forces’ such as ‘energy’ (not unlike a martial artist) to ‘awaken’ the recipient’s inner healing mechanism]

Over the past few decades I’ve had my hands on hundreds of people and have seen what I often call ‘mini-miracles’ from healing work and many other modalities that I’ve used –such as YL essential oils, cleansing detox practices, nutrition, supplements, exercise, yoga, etc etc…….)

It has been the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done!

So now I get the question from people ‘why did you stop being a healer?’

My hands are on keyboards instead of chakras, I’m coaching healers and health care professionals in marketing to get their own healing work out in the world, so people automatically assume that I stopped my work as a healer.

The truth is that I see what it is I do as ‘healing’ (creating wholeness) with the women who are my clients- and part of wholeness is the ‘F piece’ that goes with the ‘BMS’.

BMS = Body, Mind, Spirit

F = Financial

There are times in our careers that we take our work to the next level, and when I left the healing table to sit at my computer I went to the next level – I changed my target market from individuals to an industry. I am impassioned about elevating our industry of primarily women in service to others who have been disempowered for centuries and helping them to bring their gifts out to the world to serve in a bigger way, AND to experience freedom and financial prosperity.

If my healing hands could talk they would say (to me and all of us) “express all you do from the heart – hands are an extension of the heart – so whether you place us on a person’s body, in their energy field, applying essential oils, preparing food, or on a keyboard pounding out words for the world to read – we will act on your behalf and follow your intention – and we will be there also to receive the gifts the world has to give back to you – your prosperity!”
